Metalign Orthodontic Lab is owned, operated, and clinically led by a USA board-certified orthodontist. Every case that leaves our lab passes through the same clinical lens you'd apply in your own chair.
Our Story
Metalign was founded on a simple observation: most labs are run by technicians and business operators. Very few are run by a clinician who understands what actually happens when an appliance meets a patient.
We set out to change that. Metalign Orthodontic Lab, part of Metalign Technology, is a full-service lab based in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Clinician-owned, clinician-led, and built around the quality and accountability you'd expect from a partner who has sat in the same chair as you.

Dr. Delgado is a USA Board Certified Orthodontist and the founder, owner, and clinical director of Metalign Orthodontic Lab. She built Metalign to give orthodontists, dentists, and sleep apnea clinics a lab partner that reviews every case through a clinician's lens — the same standard of care she applies in her own practice.

Prosomnus Sleep Apnea Devices
Metalign fabricates Prosomnus oral appliances for patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Prosomnus devices are precision-milled from medical-grade polymer and designed for patient comfort, retention, and long-term durability.
Our sleep apnea workflow is built for dental sleep medicine practices that want a predictable partner: case submission, clinical review, fabrication, and delivery all run through the same account you use for your other Metalign cases.

Submit a Case
Secure case intake for orthodontists, dentists, and sleep apnea clinics. Upload your STL files, fill in the prescription, and we'll take it from there.
Before You Submit
To keep your case moving the same day it arrives, please have the following ready:
- STL files from your intraoral scanner (upper, lower, and bite)
- Prescription details including appliance type, arch(es), and special instructions
- Patient reference — use your practice's internal case ID (do not include protected health information)
- Practice account info — your lab account name and contact details

New partner practices can email their first case directly to lab@metalignlabs.com. Once we receive it, a Metalign team member will reach out to confirm your account setup and walk you through the workflow.

Shipping & Returns
How cases move in and out of the Metalign lab, and what to do if something isn't right.
Turnaround Time
Standard turnaround is 7–10 days from the time a complete case is received. A complete case means:
- All required STL files uploaded
- A completed prescription
- Any required photographs or notes attached
If a case is received with missing information, our team will reach out to the submitting practice and the 7–10 day clock starts when the missing items are received.
Rush Cases
Rush scheduling is available on a case-by-case basis. Contact the lab before submitting a rush case so we can confirm the timeline.
How We Ship
Appliances are packaged and shipped via insured, trackable carriers. You'll receive a shipment notification with tracking the moment your case leaves the lab.
Remakes and Adjustments
If an appliance does not fit or meet clinical specifications, contact the lab within 30 days of receipt and we will remake or adjust the case at no additional cost.

Refunds
Custom-fabricated appliances are non-refundable once production has started. If a case has not yet entered production, a full refund can be issued by contacting the lab.
